Our dune buggy rentals in Kona come with a soft top that you can remove with ease and give yourself a 360 degree view and it is AMAZING!

For your convenience, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and soft cooler are provided by request at no additional charge. We have also equipped them with USB ports. At Big Island Buggy, we believe you will have the most fun you have ever had in a car rental on the Big Island!

Our cars are not 4x4s, no off roading. Please read our FAQ page for restrictions.

What to Bring:

Please bring sunscreen, light jacket, beach bag/backpack for personal items. No locking trunk or locking cab.

Pick-up or Delivery

Pick-up your buggy in Kailua-Kona for free or we can deliver the buggy to you, for a fee. Our Buggy storage unit is located at 74-5596 Pawai Pl., Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. For cruise ship passengers, this is about a 10-minute walk from the Kailua Pier.
We charge a $40.00 fee (delivery and pick-up included) for locations from Kona town and South to Keauhou areas only. Including: Kona Ourigger Resort, Royal Kona Resort and Courtyard By Marriott King Kamehameha, to name a few. We charge a $100 fee (delivery and pick-up included) for locations from Kona (KOA) Airport and North to Waikoloa areas. Including, ALL areas of Four Seasons and Waikoloa. Including, The Hilton Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa Marriott, Kings Land, Bay Club, Paniolo Greens, Fairmont Orchid, Mauna Lani Resort, Westin Hapuna Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. To name a few. Please check your location where you would like your buggy delivered. Please call us to confirm delivery time and location. Also, let us know if there is anything you would like for us to provide for you when delivering your buggy.
All buggy pick-ups are by appointment only. Please book online or call to discuss pick-up tme.

Restrictions

• Be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license. License written in English language or international drivers license.
• Personal automobile insurance, (Full Coverage). Which includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), damages to buggy AND Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), 3rd party damages. For additional auto insurance or if you do not have insurance. We use Rental Cover. Easy to use. It is under $30 for the Collision Damage Waiver and Supplemental Liability Insurance, combined. You will need both if you have no insurance. Both insurances can be purchased from: RENTALCOVER.COM (Purchase separately on website).
• Be present at the time of the rental to complete contract.
• All drivers must be registered on the rental contract.
• Must be able to drive a stick shift/ manual transmission. Unless booking "Honu" automatic buggy.
• One registered driver will also need to Authorize Use of a credit card for purchase of optional insurance policy deductibles, if accident occurs and/or any other incidentals.
