From Dive Maui
Dive certifications are good for life but if you haven’t been diving in a while a refresher can make a world of difference. A Scuba Refresh is for the certified diver who is a little rusty and needs a diving review. All these dives are shallow dives to a maximum depth of 30 feet with an instructor to diver ratio of 1:4 allowing plenty of time to ask questions to ensure you are comfortable.
When you sign up for a Scuba Refresh your Dive Maui instructor will make sure you remember all the basics of fun and safe diving. You will receive a detailed dive briefing reviewing hand signals, equipment, the effects of pressure on the body and safe diving practices. There will also be a skill review at the beginning of the dive allowing you to practice equalizing, clearing the mask, clearing the regulator, recovering the regulator, and hovering. Upon skill completion you will do a dive where you will be able to practice buoyancy control. This dive can be personalized to practice any other skills you feel need work, just tell your instructor what you would like to do. Remember to relax and breathe slowly and deeply.
